Evening Prayer

Grant us, Father, to pass through the night of this present life with watchful heart and sober thoughts, awaiting the radiant day of your Only-begotten Son. May we not be found fallen and idle, but watching and upright, ready to accompany him into the divine palace of his glory.

Evening Prayer

When the sun is setting and the silence of the spent day reigns, in the splendor of its declining rays I see your dwelling-place–fiery and purple, gold and blue. They speak prophet-like of the ineffable beauty of your presence. Glory to you, O God, from age to age!

Evening Prayer

How glorious you are in the springtime, O God, as creatures awaken to new life and joyfully sing your praises! If the grass of the field is like this, how glorious shall we be at the resurrection! How splendid our bodies, how spotless our souls!
